Write the ECL examination

Legal basis for the examination

A.L.T.E. certified

ECL is a German language exam certified by ALTE (Association of Language Testers in Europe).

Recognised

ECL is recognised by German and international authorities, including the German Consulate in Cameroon.

Identity card

The receipt of the national identity card (CNI) is sufficient to take the exam.

Six sessions

ECL has six sessions a year: February, April, June, August, (ending September) October, (ending November) December.

Exam levels

The levels of the ECL exam are A2, B1, B2, and C1 in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Flexible

ECL does not require the certificate of the previous level to write the exam of the next level.

Question papers

They are conceived in Europe, administered at Studienkolleg Etall Mbalngong-Ydé and corrected in Europe.

Success in the exam

The ECL exam is conducted under high security in the presence of law enforcement.

Success in the exam

The ECL exam candidate can partially pass if they score a total of 120 points or more in Lesen + Sprechen (written module) or in Hören + Sprechen (oral module).
The candidate can fully pass if they score a total of 240 points or more across all four modules. However, a score below 40 in any of the four modules is considered disqualifying.
