The ECL Language Test

Targets
Candidates who reach the age of 14 during the calendar year can register for and take the ECL language test. This is a monolingual paper-based test designed to assess general language skills at four CEFR levels: A2, B1, B2 and C1. The test tasks are based on everyday situations and on the communicative skills of the candidates. The ECL exam is a general language assessment that does not target specific age groups, cultures, countries or professions.

Follow the procedure below to register for the ECL exam in 2024.
Click on the link https://exam.eclexam.eu
Register using the order of names as it appears on your birth certificate (Last name + First name).
Ensure that your email address is working correctly.
Use the postal box 14247 Yaoundé if your institution or you personally do not have a postal box.
Pay the exam fees to Afriland First Bank using the account found online and keep your receipt safely.
Present the payment receipts to the ECL secretariat at Studienkolleg Etall for validation or send a clear image of your receipt, National ID Card, receipt or passport to one of the permanent contacts at the ECL office.
After validation, you will receive your exam schedule by email.
Important Note:
- Ensure to write your full name when making the payment at the bank.
- If you are paying via bank transfer, ask the bank for a receipt with your name on it.

Individual interview: Details
- For each subject, a setup of 4 images is available.
- The two candidates exchange views individually, one after the other, on the subject represented in the setup.
- If necessary, the examiner can help the candidates by asking them questions adapted to the level of the examination.
- The aim of this part is to give candidates, the opportunity to develop their point of view on the images and subjects in well-structured and logical monologues. The interviewer and assessor evaluate the candidates’ performance individually. The evaluation criteria are as follows:
- Formal accuracy.(morphology, syntax)
- Orals accuracy (pronunciation, prosody, fluency)
